Activity Week 2017

Following a consultation with Staff and Students, we have decided to host an activity week during the last week of the Summer Term, running from Monday 17th July 2017 – Friday 21st July 2017. Students will be able to choose from a selection of activities, which would run over Monday 17th July – Thursday 20th July. On Friday 21st July, school masses will take place as usual.

In this first year, Year 7 will follow the original programme, whereby they will be offered activities as a year group (details of which will become available in the Spring Term).

Both Year 10 and Year 12 students will have the opportunity to carry out work experience.

During the week of 12th December, a letter was issued to parents to advise them of this change, along with a brief summary of details in relation to the more expensive Category D Trips – a copy of which can be obtained below:

Once you have looked through the brochure with your child, please use the below preference allocation tool to make your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.

Instructions for Allocation Tool

  • Pupils must use their school username to log into the portal
  • Pupils will only be able to choose activities which are allocated to their year groups
  • Only three choices can be made
  • Once choices have been submitted, they cannot be altered.

Activity week 2016 – 2017 timeline

October 2016 Consultation of staff and pupils.
November 2016 Decision to proceed with Activity week.
December 2016 Launch of activity week to parents, with information about the more expensive category D trips to enable time to determine viability of trips. Approximate cost of trips at this point.
January 2017 Viable category D trips confirmed, final price calculated and individual parents contacted with payment schedule.
March 2017 All activities for week confirmed and activity week brochure shared with pupils and parents.

Year 10/12 make arrangements for work experience.

April 2017 Pupils make 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices.
May 2017 Pupils and parents informed of allocated activity week choice. Payments to be made.
June 2017 Year 7 parents informed of cost of leisure park trip.
July 2017 Activity week takes place.
