All homework in Key Stage 4 and 5 is responsive and links directly to a departments’ personalised curriculum design. Although it is not compulsory for homework to be set after every lesson good practice suggest that this should be the case and as a minimum pupils should not go more than 2 lessons without being set a homework task.
Throughout Key Stage 4 and 5 it is important to recognise that there may be times that pupils have extended tasks to complete which may span over a series of homework slots. Pupils may also be asked to complete independent research or reading to support their learning. It is expected that such extended tasks are referenced in a teacher’s planning and a pupils school diary. With this is mind we ask staff to ensure pupils are completing personal research, reading or revision between each lesson to support the completion of extended tasks.
