The Music Department has been awarded a generous grant of £10,000 from The Garfield Weston Foundation to support the running of the Key Stage Music Project. The Music Project delivers instrumental tuition free of charge to all Year 7 and 8 pupils and provides pupils with instruments on loan for this two year period. The grant funding will be used to help fund this instrumental tuition as well as repairs and replacement instruments for our pupils.
The Garfield Weston Foundation is a family-founded grant-making trust established in 1958. Since it began the Foundation has donated over £960 million to charities across the UK. In the last financial year, the Foundation donated over £60 million. From small community organisations to large national institutions, the Foundation supports a broad range of charities and activities that make a positive impact in the communities in which they work. Over 1,500 charities across the UK benefit each year from the Foundation’s grants.
We are very grateful for this funding, and look forward to continuing our relationship with The Garfield Weston Foundation over the coming year.
